Your Language course

Your language course

English is the most spoken language in the world and international business would not be where it is today without it. That’s why most companies today need English language skills from their employees.

To perfect your English-or, learn Thai—you will attend 6 hours of class per week for 20 weeks. These lessons will take place in small groups of 12 people or less at the Chiang Mai Language Institute.

You will also have the option to take the official TOEIC exam at the end of your English course. The Thai language course has a comparable final exam.

Accommodation organisation

Your home

We organise your accommodation to save you the trouble of looking for an apartment. You will have a double room (with bathroom) at TL Residence, an apartment complex within walking distance to the office.

The room comes with complimentary Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV, as well as a safe, minibar, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Amenities also include a garden, laundry service and free parking. The accommodation will be free of charge as it is part of the the Work & Study Package.

Your employment

As a Work and Study participant, you will receive a 6-month employment contract with 30 working hours per week.

You answer incoming calls from customers, arrange appointments, and summarise call information. We offer our European customers around-the-clock service. Thus, your working hours will be aligned with European time. As a Work and Study participant, you will work during core working hours Monday to Friday until max. 21:00 (Thai time).

CLBS is a Thai company with German management and is subject to Thai Labour Laws. As a participant of the 6-month Work and Study Program, we grant you 12 vacation days during your stay as well as sick pay in case of illness.

Of course, once you’ve proven your skills, you can extend your stay in Chiang Mai as a full-time or part-time CLBS employee.

Your trip to Chiang Mai

Your trip to Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is an 11-hour flight away from Germany. You can reach the city after a short layover in Bangkok. You must book a suitable flight, inform us of your arrival time, and we will pick you up from the airport when you arrive and take you to your accommodation.

As an EU citizen, you need a business visa and a work permit to work legally in Thailand. But you do not have to worry, we take care of this and will arrange everything for you. You will enter Thailand with a 3-month business visa (single entry) which you must apply for at your nearest Thai Consulate or embassy in your home country. The visa application process usually takes up to 5 working days. Our Administration Department will send you all documentation that you need for the application via email. We will refund you the costs for the visa with your second salary. So, we ask that you please keep the receipt.

Your expenses

As a Work and Study participant, you will be asked to pay a deposit of 9,000 THB upon your arrival. The deposit will be paid back to you in full when your program has been completed. You will be responsible for booking and paying for your own flight to Chiang Mai, but the costs for accommodation and language course, including the final exam, are covered by the CLBS. In addition, you will receive a salary for your work as well as a holiday bonus of 6,000 THB every 3 months. You may want to bring some extra pocket money with you, if you want to try something new in your free time, such as cooking or massage classes, trekking or rafting tours.

Leticia

“Coming to Chiang Mai with the Work and Study program has been the best decision I could make. Chiang Mai is an incredible city, and studying Thai here has allowed me to understand, not only the language, which I still struggle with, but also the Thai culture and customs better. I would definitely recommend and repeat this great experience.”
