For the second year, CLBS supported the charity event for a small local school in the mountains of Mae Jaem (about 3 hours north of Chiang Mai). Warm clothes, school supplies as well as food was donated to the young students aged between 3 and 14 years. The children who belong to the hill tribes of Northern Thailand find shelter in the school while their parents are out in the fields working. Various games were played with some delicious khanom (sweets) for the winner, and while the men were cooking the food, the ladies were playing and making crafts with the kids. One of the highlights, besides the big meal, was the science project the children participated. Rockets were built with empty bottle, teaching the children about gravity. Besides doing good and making the children happy, CLBS staff got the opportunity to experience simple life without electricty in the mountains.
